Huntsville, Madison and all of Northeastern Alabama, welcome, to "GO EAT!". This is a local restaurant and table far review source. If you're looking for a restaurant critic to tell you places that suck, you've come to the wrong place.
I just simply love food. The funny thing is that it hasn't always been that way. I was raised in North Alabama & attended college at The University of Alabama. While growing up and through my time in college I never really ventured very far from southern/BBQ, fast food and the usual mexican, chinese and other middle of the road types of restaurants.
Not until I got my first job out of school on Redstone Arsenal did I begin venturing into the unknown. After meeting people who'd spent time overseas in places like Europe, Korea & Japan and following them to different ethic restaurants I began to venture even further out on my own.
Hardly a lunch break would go by that I didn't hit a different hole in the wall and usually try something that would've frightened me in my younger days.
I couldnt care less if the soup of the day was phoned in, the waiter was lazy & you got mugged in the parking lot. My only concern is good food. I'd never hold a grudge against a place with an awesome cheesesteak just because my tea glass stayed empty too long.
I said that to say this: Some places have an atmosphere that make them favorites and some foods are all the atmosphere you'll need. I'm not sure if I could've put it better than that.
However, I do feel like I need to further explain my stance on service, good or bad, a little more as to avoid confusion. I do feel that good service at a place is an excellent thing to have. I love my drink full, beer fresh and check on time. But, I've excused a lot bad and subpar service to get at some spectacular dishes.
If something other than the great food needs mentioning, I'll mention it. I'm not going to recommend the seafood at a biker bar without explaining the little Joshy really doesn't need to be trying the hush puppies. And I'm not going to gripe profusely about slow service when the tempura shrimp is good enough to move in across the street.
